On his authority, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, narrated to us two hadiths. I saw one of them while I was waiting for the other: He narrated to us: “Indeed, trust has been revealed.” At the root of men’s hearts, then they learned from the Qur’an, then they learned from the Sunnah.” He told us about removing it, saying: “The man sleeps He sleeps, and the trust is taken from his heart, its trace remains like the trace of a wick, then he sleeps. The sleep is seized, and its trace remains like the trace of a betrayal. It is like a coal that you rolled on your foot and it oozed out, and you see it spread out, but there is nothing in it, and people are exchanging pledges of allegiance and hardly anyone fulfills the trust. It is said: There is a trustworthy man among the children of so-and-so, and it is said to the man: How wise he is, how gentle he is, how courageous he is, and there is nothing in his heart the weight of a mustard seed.
