وَعَنْ خَارِجَةَ بْنِ زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ قَالَ: دَخَلَ نَفَرٌ عَلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ فَقَالُوا لَهُ: حَدِّثْنَا أَحَادِيثَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: كُنْتُ جَارَهُ فَكَانَ إِذَا نزل الْوَحْيُ بَعَثَ إِلَيَّ فَكَتَبْتُهُ لَهُ فَكَانَ إِذَا ذَكَرْنَا الدُّنْيَا ذَكَرَهَا مَعَنَا وَإِذَا ذَكَرْنَا الْآخِرَةَ ذَكَرَهَا مَعَنَا وَإِذَا ذَكَرْنَا الطَّعَامَ ذَكَرَهُ مَعَنَا فَكُلُّ هَذَا أُحَدِّثُكُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ. رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ
On the authority of Kharijah bin Zayd bin Thabit, he said: A group of people came to Zayd bin Thabit and said to him: Tell us the hadiths of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said: I was his neighbor, and whenever the revelation came down, he would send it to me and I wrote it down for him. Whenever we mentioned the world, he would mention it with us, and whenever we mentioned He mentioned the Hereafter with us, and when we mentioned food, he mentioned it with us. I tell you all of this on the authority of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi
