Imran bin Maysara narrated to us, he said: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, he said: Husayn narrated to us, on the authority of Shaqiq bin Salamah, on the authority of Khalid bin Al-Rabi’, he said: When Hudhayfah became seriously ill, his party and the Ansar heard about this, so they came to him in the middle of the night or at dawn, and said: What time is this? We said: The middle of the night or at dawn. He said: I seek refuge in God from the morning of the Fire. He said: Have you brought something with which I can be shrouded? We said: Yes. He said: “Do not go to extremes with the shrouds, for if there is anything good for me with God, I will exchange it for something better, and if it is the other, I will be robbed of it.” “Quickly.” Ibn Idris said, “We came to him one night.”
