تم استجوابه حول التبرع برسوم زراعة القرن. ثم قال: وضع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قرناً. ووضع أبو طيبة عليه قرونا. ثم أعطاه طعامين. فهي له فإذا ناقشت ذلك مع المالك خفضوا منه مقدار الأجر. وقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: «إن خير ما تداويتم به القرن وبط البحر». باستخدام خشب الصندل. وقال أيضاً: لا تؤذوا أولادكم بالضغط على ألسنتهم وأكفهم. بل يجب عليك استخدام خشب الصندل (الدخان). (البخاري ج 76: /13، ه: 5696؛ مسلم 22/11، ه: 1577)
