Hadith #38894
وعن أبي أمامة، رضي الله عنه أن رجلا قال‏:‏ يا رسول الله ائذن لي في السياحة‏.‏ فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏:‏ ‏ "‏إن سياحة أمتي الجهاد في سبيل الله، عز وجل‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه أبو داود بإسناد جيد‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏
On the authority of Abu Umamah, may God be pleased with him, that a man said: O Messenger of God, give me permission to travel. Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “My nation’s journey is jihad for the sake of God, the Almighty.” (Narrated by Abu Dawud with a good chain of transmission).
