Hadith #44587
Qutayba bin Saeed narrated to us, Ibn Lahi’ah narrated to us, on the authority of Abu al-Nadr, on the authority of Abu Salamah, on the authority of Ibn Umar, may God be pleased with him, that he said, “I saw Saad bin Abi Waqqas was wiping his socks in Iraq when he was performing ablution. I disapproved of that to him. He said, when we met with Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, said to me, “Ask your father about what you denounced me regarding wiping the socks.” He said, “So I mentioned that to him, and he said, ‘If Sa’d speaks to you, Do not respond to anything, for the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to wipe over his socks.
