Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44685

Abdullah bin Numayr told us, on the authority of Mujalid, on the authority of Amer, on the authority of Jabir bin Abdullah, who said: I heard Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, saying To Talha bin Ubaid Allah: What is the matter with me that I see you so miserable and dusty since the death of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, that perhaps you What is wrong with you, Talha, is the leadership of your cousin. He said, God forbid, I am more worthy of you than to do that. I heard the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. And he said, “I know of a word that no one says in the presence of death without finding his soul has a soul when it leaves his body.” It will be a light for him on the Day of Resurrection, so I did not ask the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, about it, and he did not tell me about it. He is the one who brought me in. Omar said. May God be pleased with him. I know it. He said, “Praise be to God.” What is it? He said, “It is the word that he said to his uncle: There is no god but God said, Talha has spoken the truth
