Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45747

Abdullah told us, Al-Abbas bin Al-Walid Al-Narsi told us, Abdul-Wahid bin Ziyad told us, Saeed Al-Jariri told us, on the authority of Abu Al-Ward, On the authority of Ibn Abd, he said: Ali bin Abi Talib, may God be pleased with him, said to me: O Ibn Abd, do you know what proper food is? I said: And what is his right, O Ibn Abi Talib? He said, “You say in the name of God, O God, bless for us what You have provided for us.” He said, “And you know how he thanked him when you finished.” He said, “I said.” And what did he thank him for? He said, “Praise be to God who has fed us and given us drink.” Then he said, “Shall I not tell you about me and Fatima, may God be pleased with her?” The daughter of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and she was one of the most generous of his family to him, and my wife used a millstone until the millstone moved in her hand. And she watered the waterskin until the watershoe filled it with water, and she set up the house until her clothes were covered with dust, and she made fire under the pot until She soiled her clothes, and harm befell her as a result of that. She was brought to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, as a captive or a servant. He said, so I told her to go. To the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and ask him for a servant who will protect you from the freedom you are in. So she went to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. And she found a servant or servants with him, so she returned and did not ask him. He mentioned the hadith and said, “Shall I not guide you to what is better for you than a servant?” When you go to bed, exalt God thirty-three times, praise God thirty-three times, and exalt God thirty-four times. He said, so she came out. She nodded and said, “I am pleased with God and His Messenger twice,” and he mentioned something like the hadith of Ibn Ulayya on the authority of Al-Jariri or something similar.
