Hadith #44724
Hushaym told us, Sayyar told me, on the authority of Abu Wael, that a man, who was a Christian called al-Sabi bin Ma’abad, converted to Islam and wanted to wage jihad. It was said to him, “Start with the Hajj.” Al-Ash’ari came and ordered him to perform the Ihram for both Hajj and Umrah. He did so, and while he was performing the Talbiyah, he passed by. Yazid bin Suhan and Salman bin Rabi’ah, and one of them said to his friend, “This one is more misguided than his family’s camel.” The boy heard it, and that was hard for him. When he came, Omar came and mentioned that to him, and Omar, may God be pleased with him, said to him: “You have been guided by the Sunnah of your Prophet.” He said, “And I heard him another time saying.” You have conformed to the Sunnah of your Prophet
