Hadith #44726
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ الْأَحْوَلُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَرْجِسَ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ الْأُصَيْلِعَ يَعْنِي عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يُقَبِّلُ الْحَجَرَ وَيَقُولُ إِنِّي لَأُقَبِّلُكَ وَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ حَجَرٌ لَا تَنْفَعُ وَلَا تَضُرُّ وَلَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَبِّلُكَ لَمْ أُقَبِّلْكَ.
Abu Muawiyah narrated to us, Asim Al-Ahwal narrated to us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Sarjis, he said, I saw Al-Asila’, meaning Omar, may God be pleased with him, kissing The stone and he says, “I kiss you and I know that you are a stone that can neither benefit nor harm you, and had I not seen the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” May the peace and blessings of God be upon him. He kisses you. I did not kiss you.
