Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45507

Waki` narrated to us, on the authority of Israel, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Ali bin Rabi’ah, who said: I was buttocks of Ali, may God be pleased with him, when he put his foot in The stirrup said, “In the name of God,” and when he reached the level, he said, “Praise be to God.” {Glory be to Him who has subjugated this to us, and we were not worthy of it. Our Lord, we will never be overturned. And Abu Sa`id, the client of Banu Hashim, said, then he praised God three times, and God is most great three times, then he said, Glory be to God, three times, then He said, “There is no god but You,” then he returned to the hadith of Waki’. “Glory be to You. Indeed, I have wronged myself, so forgive me. Indeed, none forgives sins except You. Then he laughed. I said, “What makes you laugh?” He said, “I was a sidekick to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he did as you saw me doing.” Then he laughed. I said, “Oh.” The Messenger of God, “What makes you laugh?” God Almighty said, “It is amazing that my servant knows that no one forgives sins except me.”
