Affan told us, Hammad bin Salamah told us, Thabit told us, on the authority of Anas, that Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, when she relied on him Hafsa, and he said, “O Hafsa, did you not hear the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, say, ‘The one who is relied upon will be tortured.’” He said, “And Suhaib was punished,” and he said, Omar, O Suhaib, did you not know that the one who is relied upon is tortured?
