Hadith #44790
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَنْبَأَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ إِيَّاكُمْ أَنْ تَهْلِكُوا عَنْ آيَةِ الرَّجْمِ وَأَنْ يَقُولَ قَائِلٌ لَا نَجِدُ حَدَّيْنِ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى فَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَجَمَ وَرَجَمْنَا بَعْدَهُ.
Yazid told us, Yahya told us, on the authority of Sa`id ibn al-Musayyab, that Omar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, said, “Beware lest you perish from a sign.” Stoning, and someone may say, “We do not find two punishments in the Book of God Almighty. I have seen the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, stoned.” And we stoned him after him
