حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ، عَنْ أَبِي عُثْمَانَ النَّهْدِيِّ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ اتَّزِرُوا وَارْتَدُوا وَانْتَعِلُوا وَأَلْقُوا الْخِفَافَ وَالسَّرَاوِيلَاتِ وَأَلْقُوا الرُّكُبَ وَانْزُوا نَزْوًا وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِالْمَعَدِّيَّةِ وَارْمُوا الْأَغْرَاضَ وَذَرُوا التَّنَعُّمَ وَزِيَّ الْعَجَمِ وَإِيَّاكُمْ وَالْحَرِيرَ فَإِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ نَهَى عَنْهُ وَقَالَ لَا تَلْبَسُوا مِنْ الْحَرِيرِ إِلَّا مَا كَانَ هَكَذَا وَأَشَارَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِإِصْبَعَيْهِ.
Yazid told us, Asim told us, on the authority of Abu Uthman al-Nahdi, on the authority of Omar ibn al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, that he said, “Girdle yourselves, and wear your shoes, and put on your shoes.” And throw away your sandals and trousers, and throw down your knees, and get off on the ferry, and throw away your belongings, and leave. Luxury and non-Arab clothing, and beware of silk, for the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbade it and said, “Do not wear silk except that which is Thus, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, indicated with his two fingers.
