حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بَعَثَ مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْحَقِّ وَأَنْزَلَ مَعَهُ الْكِتَابَ فَكَانَ مِمَّا أُنْزِلَ عَلَيْهِ آيَةُ الرَّجْمِ فَرَجَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَرَجَمْنَا بَعْدَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ قَدْ كُنَّا نَقْرَأُ وَلَا تَرْغَبُوا عَنْ آبَائِكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ كُفْرٌ بِكُمْ أَوْ إِنَّ كُفْرًا بِكُمْ أَنْ تَرْغَبُوا عَنْ آبَائِكُمْ ثُمَّ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لَا تُطْرُونِي كَمَا أُطْرِيَ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا عَبْدٌ فَقُولُوا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ مَعْمَرٌ كَمَا أَطْرَتْ النَّصَارَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ.
Abdul Razzaq told us, Muammar told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Abdullah bin Utba bin Masoud, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, on the authority of Omar, may God be pleased with him, said that God Almighty sent Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, with the truth and sent down with him the Book. Among the things that were revealed to him was the verse of stoning. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, stoned us and stoned us after him. Then he said, “We have been reciting, but do not turn away from it.” Your fathers, then it is disbelief in you, or it is disbelief in you that you turn away from your fathers. Then the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, And he said, “Do not extol me as the son of Mary was extolled. Rather, I am only a servant.” So say, “His servant and His Messenger.” And perhaps Ma’mar said, as the Christians extolled. Son of Maryam...
