Hadith #44850
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ الْمَيِّتُ يُعَذَّبُ فِي قَبْرِهِ بِمَا نِيحَ عَلَيْهِ.
Muhammad ibn Ja`far narrated to us, Sa`id narrated to us, on the authority of Qatada, on the authority of Sa`id ibn al-Musayyab, on the authority of Ibn Umar, on the authority of Umar, may God be pleased with him, that the Prophet prayed May God bless him and grant him peace. He said: The dead person will be tortured in his grave because of what he mourned for.
