Hadith #44861
Affan told us, Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Al-Hakam, on the authority of Abu Wa’il, on the authority of Subi ibn Ma’abad, that he was a Christian who conquered, so he converted to Islam and asked Which deed is the best? So he was told, “Jihad for the sake of God Almighty.” He wanted to strive, so he was told, “Have you performed Hajj?” He said, “No,” so he was told, “Hajj.” He performed ‘Umrah, then he made jihad and brought them all to the ihram. Zayd ibn Suhan and Salman ibn Rabi’ah agreed and said, “He is more misguided than his she-camel or whatever.” With better guidance than his camel, he went to Omar, may God be pleased with him, and told him what they had said. He said, “I have been guided by the Sunnah of your Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace.” Or according to the Sunnah of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.
