حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا مُجَمِّعُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عِمْرَانَ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، وَالْمَسْعُودِيُّ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ هُرْمُزَ، عَنْ نَافِعِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَيْسَ بِالْقَصِيرِ وَلَا بِالطَّوِيلِ ضَخْمَ الرَّأْسِ وَاللِّحْيَةِ شَثْنَ الْكَفَّيْنِ وَالْقَدَمَيْنِ ضَخْمَ الْكَرَادِيسِ مُشْرَبًا وَجْهُهُ حُمْرَةً طَوِيلَ الْمَسْرُبَةِ إِذَا مَشَى تَكَفَّأَ تَكَفُّؤًا كَأَنَّمَا يَتَقَلَّعُ مِنْ صَخْرٍ لَمْ أَرَ قَبْلَهُ وَلَا بَعْدَهُ مِثْلَهُ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ و قَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ الْمَسْرُبَةُ وَقَالَ كَأَنَّمَا يَنْحَطُّ مِنْ صَبَبٍ و قَالَ أَبُو قَطَنٍ الْمَسْرُبَةُ و قَالَ يَزِيدُ الْمَسْرُبَةُ‏.‏
Waki’ told us, Muja’ bin Yahya told us, on the authority of Abdullah bin Imran Al-Ansari, on the authority of Ali, and Al-Masoudi, on the authority of Uthman bin Abd. Allah bin Hurmuz, on the authority of Nafi’ bin Jubayr, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was not Short or long, he has a large head and beard, two palms and feet, he has large ankles, his face is covered with redness, and he is tall. Al-Masribah: When he walked, he would lean forward as if he were being lifted from a rock. I had never seen anyone like him before or after him, may God bless him and grant him peace, and he said Abu Al-Nadr Al-Masrabah, and he said, “As if it were falling from a spring.” Abu Qatan said, “Al-Masrabah,” and Yazid said, “Al-Masrabah.”
