Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44680

Yahya bin Saeed told us, and I asked him, Sulayman bin Al-Mughirah told us, Thabit told us, on the authority of Anas, he said: We were with Omar in Mecca. And Medina, and we saw the crescent moon, and I was sharp-sighted and saw it, so I started saying to Omar, “Do you not see it?” He said, “I will see it while lying down.” On my bed, then he started telling us about the people of Badr. He said, “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was going to show us their battles yesterday.” This is the death of so-and-so tomorrow, God Almighty willing, and this is the death of so-and-so tomorrow, God Almighty willing. He said, “So they started to strike her.” He said I said, “By the One who sent you with the truth, they did not make a mistake. They were wrestling over her. Then he ordered them to be thrown into a well, and he went to them and said, ‘So-and-so,’ So-and-so, did you find what God promised you to be true? Indeed, I found what God promised me to be true. Omar said, “O Messenger of God, am I speaking to a people who have They said, “You are not better at listening to what I say than they are, but they are not able to answer.”
