Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45739

Abdullah told us, Nasr bin Ali and Ubayd Allah bin Omar told us, they said Abdullah bin Daoud told us, on the authority of Nu’aym bin Hakim, on the authority of Abu Maryam, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, that the woman of Al-Walid bin Uqba came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said, Messenger of God, Al-Walid beats her, and Nasr bin Ali said in his hadith, “She complains about him.” He said, “Tell him, ‘He has been kind to me.’” Ali said, “and she only stayed A little while until she came back and said, “He only hit me more.” So he took a piece of his clothing and gave it to her and said, “Tell him that the Messenger of God prayed.” May God bless him and grant him peace. He has been kind to me, and it was only a short time before she came back and said, “He only beat me more.” He raised his hands and said, “O God, bless the newborn.” He sinned against me twice. This is the wording of the hadith of Al-Qawariri, and their meaning is the same. Abdullah told us, Abu Bakr bin Abi told me. Shaybah and Abu Khaythamah said, Ubayd Allah ibn Musa told us, Nu`aym ibn Hakim told us, on the authority of Abu Maryam, on the authority of Ali, that the wife of al-Walid ibn Uqba came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, complaining to the newborn that he was hitting her, so he mentioned the hadith.
