Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45851

Attab bin Ziyad told us, Abdullah, meaning Ibn Al-Mubarak, told us, Hisham bin Urwa told us, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr, may God be pleased with him, said: On the Day of the Battles, I and Omar bin Abi Salamah were with the women, and I looked and saw that I was with Al-Zubayr. On his horse, he would go to Banu Qurayza two or three times. When he came back, I said, “O father, I saw you going.” He said, “Have you seen me, my son?” I said, “Yes.” He said, “The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, ‘Who will go to Banu Qurayzah and bring me their news?’ So I set off.” When I returned, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, gathered his parents for me and said, May my father and mother be sacrificed for you.
