Al-Adab Al-Mufrad — Hadith #47344
Hadith #47344
Muhammad bin Yusuf narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Salim bin Abi Al-Ja’d, on the authority of Jabir, who said: A boy was born to a man among us. So he named him Al-Qasim, and the Ansar said: We will not give you the nickname Abu Al-Qasim, nor will we grant you an in-kind favor. So he came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said To him: What the Ansar said, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Well done, the Ansar. Call by my name, and do not use my nickname, for I am the Qasim.
