Al-Adab Al-Mufrad # 35/842
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ قَالَ: وُلِدَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنَّا غُلاَمٌ فَسَمَّاهُ الْقَاسِمَ، فَقَالَتِ الأَنْصَارُ: لاَ نُكَنِّيكَ أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ، وَلاَ نُنْعِمُكَ عَيْنًا، فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ لَهُ: مَا قَالَتِ الأَنْصَارُ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم: أَحْسَنَتِ الأَنْصَارُ، تَسَمُّوا بِاسْمِي، وَلاَ تَكْتَنُوا بِكُنْيَتِي، فَإِنَّمَا أَنَا قَاسِمٌ.
Muhammad bin Yusuf narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Salim bin Abi Al-Ja’d, on the authority of Jabir, who said: A boy was born to a man among us. So he named him Al-Qasim, and the Ansar said: We will not give you the nickname Abu Al-Qasim, nor will we grant you an in-kind favor. So he came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said To him: What the Ansar said, so the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Well done, the Ansar. Call by my name, and do not use my nickname, for I am the Qasim.

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad # 35/843
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا فِطْرٌ، عَنْ مُنْذِرٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ يَقُولُ: كَانَتْ رُخْصَةً لِعَلِيٍّ، قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، إِنْ وُلِدَ لِي بَعْدَكَ أُسَمِّيهِ بِاسْمِكَ، وَأُكَنِّيهِ بِكُنْيَتِكَ؟ قَالَ: نَعَمْ.
Abu Nu`aym told us, he said: Fitr told us, on the authority of Mundhir, he said: I heard Ibn al-Hanafiyyah say: It was a concession given to Ali. He said: Oh Messenger of God, if a child is born to me after you, I will name him by your name and give him your nickname. He said: Yes.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عَجْلاَنَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ نَجْمَعَ بَيْنَ اسْمِهِ وَكُنْيَتِهِ، وَقَالَ: أَنَا أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ، وَاللَّهُ يُعْطِي، وَأَنَا أَقْسِمُ.
Abdullah bin Yusuf told us, he said: Al-Layth told us, he said: Ibn Ajlan told me, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, he said: The Messenger of God forbade May God bless him and grant him peace, let us combine his name and his nickname, and he said: I am Abu Al-Qasim, and God gives, and I swear.

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad # 35/845
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي السُّوقِ، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا أَبَا الْقَاسِمِ، فَالْتَفَتَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَقَالَ: دَعَوْتُ هَذَا، فَقَالَ: سَمُّوا بِاسْمِي، وَلاَ تُكَنُّوا بِكُنْيَتِي.
Abu Omar told us, he said: Shu’bah told us, on the authority of Humaid, on the authority of Anas, who said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was in the market, and a man said: O Abu al-Qasim, Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, turned and said: I called this, and he said: Call by my name, and do not use my nickname.

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad # 35/846
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَقِيلٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّ أُسَامَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ أَخْبَرَهُ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بَلَغَ مَجْلِسًا فِيهِ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أُبَيِّ بْنُ سَلُولٍ، وَذَلِكَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْلِمَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ، فَقَالَ: لاَ تُؤْذِينَا فِي مَجْلِسِنَا، فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ فَقَالَ: أَيْ سَعْدُ، أَلاَ تَسْمَعُ مَا يَقُولُ أَبُو حُبَابٍ؟، يُرِيدُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ أُبَيٍّ ابْنَ سَلُولٍ.
Abdullah bin Salih narrated to us, saying: Al-Layth narrated to me, saying: Aqeel narrated to me, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Urwa bin Al-Zubayr, that Usama bin Zaid told him that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, reached a gathering in which Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul was present, and that was before Abdullah converted to Islam. Ibn Ubayy, so he said: Do not disturb us in our gathering. Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, came to Sa’d Ibn Ubadah and said: That is, Sa’d, do you not hear what Abu Hubab? He means Abdullah bin Ubayy bin Salul.

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad # 35/847
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَدْخُلُ عَلَيْنَا، وَلِي أَخٌ صَغِيرٌ يُكَنَّى: أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ، وَكَانَ لَهُ نُغَرٌ يَلْعَبُ بِهِ فَمَاتَ، فَدَخَلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَرَآهُ حَزِينًا، فَقَالَ: مَا شَأْنُهُ؟ قِيلَ لَهُ: مَاتَ نُغَرُهُ، فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا عُمَيْرٍ، مَا فَعَلَ النُّغَيْرُ؟.
Musa bin Ismail told us, he said: Hammad bin Salamah told us, on the authority of Thabit, on the authority of Anas, who said: The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to enter upon us, and I have a brother. A young man, nicknamed: Abu Umair. He had a den with which he played, and he died. Then the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, entered and saw him sad, and said: Why? What happened to him? He was told: Naghir died, so he said: O Abu Umair, what did Naghir do?

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad # 35/848
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللهِ كَنَّى عَلْقَمَةَ: أَبَا شِبْلٍ، وَلَمْ يُولَدْ لَهُ.
Abu Nu`aym told us, he said: Sufyan told us, on the authority of Mughirah, on the authority of Ibrahim, that Abdullah had the nickname Alqamah: Abu Shibl, and no children were born to him.

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad # 35/849
حَدَّثَنَا عَارِمٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ الأَعْمَشُ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ قَالَ: كَنَّانِي عَبْدُ اللهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُولَدَ لِي.
'Arim told us, he said: Sulayman Al-A'mash told us, on the authority of Ibrahim, on the authority of Alqamah, who said: He was the servant of God before he was born to me.

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلامٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، كَنَّيْتَ نِسَاءَكَ، فَاكْنِنِي، فَقَالَ: تَكَنِّي بِابْنِ أُخْتِكِ عَبْدِ اللهِ.
Muhammad bin Salam told us, he said: Abu Muawiyah told us, he said: Hisham bin Urwa told us, on the authority of Yahya bin Abbad bin Hamza, On the authority of Aisha, may God be pleased with her, she said: I came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: O Messenger of God, you have been like me to your wives, so be like me. He said: Be like me. By your sister’s son, Abdullah

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad # 35/851
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، أَلاَ تُكَنِّينِي؟ فَقَالَ: اكْتَنِي بِابْنِكِ، يَعْنِي: عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ الزُّبَيْرِ، فَكَانَتْ تُكَنَّى: أُمَّ عَبْدِ اللهِ.
Musa told us, he said: Wahib told us, he said: Hisham told us, on the authority of Abbad bin Hamza bin Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr, that Aisha was satisfied On her authority, she said: O Prophet of God, won’t you give me a nickname? So he said: Give me a nickname by your son, meaning: Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr, so she was given a nickname: Umm Abdullah...

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad # 35/852
حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلاَلٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، إِنْ كَانَتْ أَحَبَّ أَسْمَاءِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِلَيْهِ لَأَبُو تُرَابٍ، وَإِنْ كَانَ لَيَفْرَحُ أَنْ يُدْعَى بِهَا، وَمَا سَمَّاهُ أَبَا تُرَابٍ إِلاَّ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، غَاضَبَ يَوْمًا فَاطِمَةَ، فَخَرَجَ فَاضْطَجَعَ إِلَى الْجِدَارِ إِلَى الْمَسْجِدِ، وَجَاءَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَتْبَعُهُ، فَقَالَ: هُوَ ذَا مُضْطَجِعٌ فِي الْجِدَارِ، فَجَاءَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَدِ امْتَلَأَ ظَهْرُهُ تُرَابًا، فَجَعَلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَمْسَحُ التُّرَابَ عَنْ ظَهْرِهِ وَيَقُولُ: اجْلِسْ أَبَا تُرَابٍ.
Khaled bin Mukhlid told us, he said: Suleiman bin Bilal told us, he said: Abu Hazim told me, on the authority of Sahl bin Saad, if she was more beloved The names of Ali, may God be pleased with him, are given to him by Abu Turab, although he was happy to be called by them, and no one called him Abu Turab except the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. One day, Fatima was angry, so he went out and lay down against the wall of the mosque, and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, came to him, following him, and said: Here he is. He was lying against the wall. Then the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, came and his back was filled with dust. So the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, began to wipe the dust off his His back and says: Sit down, father of dust.

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad # 35/853
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: بَيْنَمَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي نَخْلٍ لَنَا، نَخْلٍ لأَبِي طَلْحَةَ، تَبَرَّزَ لِحَاجَتِهِ، وَبِلاَلٌ يَمْشِي وَرَاءَهُ، يُكْرِمُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ يَمْشِيَ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ، فَمَرَّ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِقَبْرٍ فَقَامَ، حَتَّى تَمَّ إِلَيْهِ بِلاَلٌ، فَقَالَ: وَيْحَكَ يَا بِلاَلُ، هَلْ تَسْمَعُ مَا أَسْمَعُ؟ قَالَ: مَا أَسْمَعُ شَيْئًا، فَقَالَ: صَاحِبُ هَذَا الْقَبْرِ يُعَذَّبُ، فَوُجِدَ يَهُودِيًّا.
Abu Muammar told us, he said: Abdul-Warith told us, he said: Abdul-Aziz told us, on the authority of Anas, who said: While the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, was in a palm tree For us, a palm tree belonging to Abu Talha, which he excreted due to his need, and Bilal walked behind him, honoring the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, to walk beside him. So the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, passed by a grave and stood up until Bilal came to him and said: Woe to you, Bilal. Do you hear what I hear? He said: I do not hear anything. He said: The owner of this grave is being tortured, and he was found to be a Jew.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ مُعَاوِيَةَ يَقُولُ لأَخٍ لَهُ صَغِيرٍ: أَرْدِفِ الْغُلاَمَ، فَأَبَى، فَقَالَ لَهُ مُعَاوِيَةُ: بِئْسَ مَا أُدِّبْتَ، قَالَ قَيْسٌ: فَسَمِعْتُ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ يَقُولُ: دَعْ عَنْكَ أَخَاكَ.
Abdullah bin Muhammad narrated to us, he said: Sufyan narrated to us, on the authority of Ismail, on the authority of Qais, who said: I heard Muawiyah saying to his younger brother: The boy refused, so Muawiyah said to him: How miserable you were taught. Qais said: I heard Abu Sufyan say: Leave your brother behind.

حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عُفَيْرٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ: إِذَا كَثُرَ الأَخِلاَّءُ كَثُرَ الْغُرَمَاءُ، قُلْتُ لِمُوسَى: وَمَا الْغُرَمَاءُ؟ قَالَ: الْحُقُوقُ.
Sa`id bin Ufayr narrated to us, saying: Yahya bin Ayyub narrated to me, on the authority of Musa bin Ali, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Amr bin Al-Aas, who said: If it increases There are many fines. I said to Musa: What are the fines? He said: Rights.
