When he departed, I said to myself: By God, I will come to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, until I increase in knowledge, so I came walking until I stood before him. So I said: What do you command me to do? He said: O Harmala, do what is right and avoid what is wrong. Then I returned, until I came to the departing one, then I came. Until I stood up close to him and said: O Messenger of God, what do you command me to do? He said: O Harmala, do what is right and avoid doing evil. The evil, and see what pleases your ear that the people say to you, when you get up from them, go for it, and look at what you hate for the people to say to you. When you get up from them, avoid it. When I came back, I thought, and behold, they had not left anything behind.

Ishaq ibn Mukhlid narrated to us, on the authority of Hammad ibn Usama, on the authority of Mis’ar, he said: Umar ibn Qais narrated to us, on the authority of Amr ibn Abi Qurrah al-Kindi. He said: My father offered Salman his sister, but he refused and married his servant, called Baqira. Abu Qurrah was informed that he was among Hudhayfah and Salman had something, so he came to him asking for it, and he was told that it was in a vegetable garden of his. So he went to him, and he found that Zabeel had with him some vegetables in it. He inserted his stick into the garment of the dunghill, which was on his shoulders, and said: O Abu Abdullah, what was the matter between you and Hudhayfah? He said: He says: Salman: {And man was hasty}, so they set off until they came to Salman’s house, then Salman entered the house and said: Peace be upon you, then he gave permission to my father. Qurra went in, and behold, there was a pattern placed on a door, and at its head were bricks, and behold, earrings. So he said: Sit on your mistress’s bed. Which prepares itself, then he started speaking to him and said: Hudhayfah was telling things that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, used to say in his anger. To a people, so I may ask about it? So I say: Hudhayfah knows best what he is saying, and I hate for there to be grudges between peoples. So Hudhayfah came and was told: Salman does not believe you and does not disbelieve in what you say. So Hudhayfah came to me and said: O Salman, son of Umm Salman, So I said, “O Hudhayfah, son of Umm Hudhayfah, you must stop, or I will write about you until ‘Umar.” When I frightened him about Umm Hudhayfah, he left me, and he said The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him: I am from the descendants of Adam, so whatever servant of my nation whom I have cursed, or whom I have inflicted a curse on, in a manner other than his appearance, then impose it upon him. Prayer
