Al-Adab Al-Mufrad — Hadith #47384

Ahmad bin Salih told us, he said: Anbasa bin Khalid told us, he said: Yunus told us, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, he said: Yahya told me Ibn Urwah Ibn Al-Zubayr, that he heard Urwah Ibn Al-Zubair saying: Aisha, the wife of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Some people asked the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. He, peace and blessings be upon him, on the authority of the soothsayers. He said to them: They are nothing. They said: O Messenger of God, is it true that they tell something? So the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said. And peace be upon him: That word of truth is snatched by Satan, and he clucks in the ears of his guardian like the cluck of a hen. They mix it with more than a hundred lies.
