Hadith #47603
Yahya bin Bishr narrated to us, saying: Al-Hakam bin Al-Mubarak narrated to us, saying: Abbad, meaning Ibn Abbad, narrated to us, on the authority of Asim Al-Ahwal, on the authority of Abu Othman Al-Nahdi said: Abu Musa wrote to monks greeting him in his letter, and he was told: Should I greet him while he is an unbeliever? He said: He wrote to me and greeted me, so I responded to him.
