Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #48251

On the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with them both, he said: A man came to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: O Messenger of God, you saw me tonight. While I was sleeping, it was as if I was praying behind a tree, so I prostrated, and the tree prostrated because of my prostration, so I heard it say: O God, write it down for me in your presence. Reward me, and place a burden on me for it, and make it a treasure for me with you, and accept it from me as you accepted it from your servant David. Ibn Abbas said: So the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, recited a prostration and then prostrated, and I heard him saying the same as the man told him about saying The tree. He narrated it Al-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah, but he did not mention it. He accepted it from me as you accepted it from your servant Dawud. Al-Tirmidhi said: This is a strange hadith.
