On the authority of Kurayb: Ibn Abbas, Al-Maswar bin Makhramah, and Abd al-Rahman bin Azhar, may God be pleased with them, sent him to Aisha and said, “Recite, peace be upon her.” He asked her about the two rak'ahs after the afternoon prayer. He said: So I went to Aisha and informed her of what they had sent me. She said, "Ask Umm Salamah," so I left. To them, they returned me to Umm Salamah, and Umm Salamah, may God be pleased with her, said: I heard the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, forbidding them, then I saw him praying them, then He came in, so I sent the maid to him and said: Tell him, Umm Salamah says, O Messenger of God, I heard you forbidding these two. And I see you praying them? He said: “O daughter of Abu Umayyah, you asked about the two rak’ahs after the afternoon prayer, and some people from Abdul Qais came to me and distracted me from the two rak’ahs after the afternoon prayer.” Dhuhr, they are these two.”
