Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #50172

On the authority of Al-Numan bin Bashir that his father brought him to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: I have given this son of mine a boy, and he said: “Eat Did your son wear a suit like him? He said: No. He said: “Then return it.” And in a narration: He said: “Would you be pleased that they should be equal to you in righteousness?” He said: Yes. He said: “No, then.” And in a narration: He said: My father gave me a gift, and Amra bint Rawaha said: I will not be satisfied until the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, bears witness, so he came. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: I have given my son from Amra bint Rawaha Atiyya. So you commanded me to bear witness, O Messenger of God. He said: “Did you give the rest of your children something like this?” He said: No. He said: “So fear God and be just among your children.” He said: He returned and returned his gift. And in a narration: He said: “I do not bear witness to injustice.”
