Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #50532

On the authority of Imran bin Husayn: A man emancipated six of his slaves when he died. He had no wealth other than them, so the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, called for them. So he divided them into thirds, then he cast lots among them, freeing two and enslaving four, and he said to him a harsh word. Narrated by Muslim Al-Nasa’i narrated it on his authority, and he said: “I was thinking not to pray for him,” instead of: “And he said a harsh word to him.” And in the narration of Abu Dawud: He said: “If “I saw him before he was buried. He was not buried in Muslim cemeteries.”
