Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #50805

On the authority of Abdullah bin Omar, he said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “All of you are shepherds, and all of you are responsible for his flock, so the imam who is over the people is a shepherd.” He is responsible for his flock, and the man is a shepherd over his household, and he is responsible for his flock, and the woman is a shepherd over his household. Her husband and his child and she is responsible for them. A man’s servant is a shepherd of his master’s property and he is responsible for it. Indeed, each of you is a shepherd and each of you is responsible for his flock.”
