Mishkat al-Masabih — Hadith #51228

On the authority of Abu Al-Sa'ib, he said: We entered upon Abu Sa'id Al-Khudri, and while we were sitting, we heard under his bed and looked, and behold, there was a snake in it, so I jumped up to kill it. Abu Saeed was praying, so he motioned for me to sit, so I sat. When he left, he pointed to a house in the house and said: Do you see this house? So I said: Yes, so he said: There was a young man among us who had recently met a wedding. He said: So we went out with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, to the ditch, and it was that young man. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, would seek permission at midday and return to his family. So he asked him for permission one day and said to him: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace: “Take your weapons, for I fear that Qurayza will attack you.” So the man took his weapon, then returned, and behold, his wife was standing between the two doors, so he leaned towards her with a spear to stab her with it, and he was struck with jealousy. So she said to him: Hold your spear over you. And enter the house until you see what brought me out. Then he entered, and behold, there was a great snake lying on the bed, and I plunged into it with a spear. So he grabbed her with it, then went out and placed it in the house, and she was disturbed by it. It is not known which of the two died faster: the snake or the boy? He said: So we came The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and we mentioned that to him and said: Call on God to revive it for us, and he said: “Ask forgiveness for your companion,” then he said: “Indeed “These houses have walls, so if you see any of them, go to it three times, and if it goes, otherwise kill it, for it is an infidel.” And he said to them: “Go and bury your companion.” And in a narration he said: “Indeed, in Medina, there are jinn who have converted to Islam, so if you see any of them, call it to it for three days, and if it appears to you After that, kill him, for he is a devil.” Narrated by Muslim
