وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ: انْشَقَّ الْقَمَرُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِرْقَتَيْنِ: فِرْقَةً فَوْقَ الْجَبَلِ وَفِرْقَةً دُونَهُ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «اشْهَدُوا» . مُتَّفق عَلَيْهِ
On the authority of Ibn Masoud, he said: During the time of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, the moon split into two parts: one part above the mountain and one part below it. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: “Bear witness.” agreed
