Hadith #28858
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ لاَ تَبْدَءُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَى بِالسَّلاَمِ وَإِذَا لَقِيتُمْ أَحَدَهُمْ فِي الطَّرِيقِ فَاضْطَرُّوهُمْ إِلَى أَضْيَقِهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ ‏.‏
Qutaibah narrated to us, Abd al-Aziz bin Muhammad narrated to us, on the authority of Suhail bin Abi Salih, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace He said, “Do not greet the Jews and Christians with greetings. If you meet one of them on the road, force them to its narrow path.” Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
