Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29835

Mahmoud bin Ghaylan told us, he said, Abu Dawud told us, he said, Shu`bah told us, on the authority of Saad bin Ibrahim, he said, I heard Abu Salamah bin Abdul Rahman, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “A man was riding a cow when she said, ‘I was not created for this. I was only created for plowing.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “I believed in that, Abu Bakr and Omar.” Abu Salamah said, “What are they?” among the people on that day, and God knows best. Muhammad ibn Bashar narrated to us, saying: Muhammad ibn Ja`far narrated to us, he said: Shu’bah narrated to us, with this. The chain of transmission is similar. Abu Issa said: This is a good and authentic hadith.
