Hadith #38026
وَعَنْ لَقِيطِ بنِ عَامِرٍ أَنَّهُ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم فَقَالَ : إِنَّ أَبِي شَيْخٌ كَبِيرٌ لاَ يَسْتَطِيعُ الحَجَّ وَلاَ العُمْرَةَ وَلاَ الظَّعَنَ ؟ قَالَ حُجَّ عَنْ أَبِيكَ وَاعْتَمِرْ رواه أَبُو داود والترمذي وقال حَدِيْثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيْحٌ
And on the authority of Laqit bin Aamir: He came to the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and said: My father is an old man and is not able to perform Hajj, Umrah, or perform Hajj. He said, “Perform Hajj on behalf of your father and perform Umrah.” It was narrated by Abu Dawud and Al-Tirmidhi, who said it is a good and authentic hadith.
