Hadith #38839
وعن ابن عباس رضي الله عنه، أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم بعث معاذًا رضي الله عنه إلى اليمن فقال:
"ادعهم إلى شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله وأني رسول الله، فإن هم أطاعوا لذلك فأعلمهم أن الله تعالى افترض عليهم خمس صلوات في كل يوم وليلة، فإن هم أطاعوا لذلك فأعلمهم أن الله افترض عليهم صدقة تؤخذ من أغنيائهم، وترد على فقرائهم" ((متفق عليه)) .
On the authority of Ibn Abbas, may God be pleased with him, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, sent Mu’adh, may God be pleased with him, to Yemen and said:
“Call them to bear witness that there is no god but God and that I am the Messenger of God. If they obey that, teach them that God Almighty has obligated them to perform five prayers every day and night. If they obey that, then teach them that God has obligated them to give charity to be taken from their rich and given to their poor.” (Agreed upon)
