Hadith #40581
وعن أبي أمامة، رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏ ‏ "‏من صام يومًا في سبيل الله جعل الله بينه وبين النار خندقًا كما بين السماء والأرض‏"‏ ‏(‏‏(‏رواه الترمذي وقال‏:‏ حديث حسن صحيح‏)‏‏)‏‏.‏
On the authority of Abu Umamah, may God be pleased with him, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, he said: “Whoever fasts a day for the sake of God, God will place between him and the Fire a ditch as between the sky and the earth” ((Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi and said: A good and authentic hadith)).
