Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44642

Abu Saeed narrated to us, Abdul Aziz bin Muhammad narrated to us, Salih bin Muhammad bin Zaida narrated to us, on the authority of Salem bin Abdullah, that it was With Maslama bin Abdul-Malik in the land of the Romans, and he found a deceit in a man’s possessions. He asked Salim bin Abdullah, and he said: Abdullah told me. On the authority of Omar, may God be pleased with him, that the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said: “Whoever in whose belongings you find deceit, burn him.” He said, “And I will think so.” He said And beat him. He said, so he took out his belongings in the market. He said, and found a Qur’an in it. He asked Salim, and he said, “Sell it and give its price in charity.”
