حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَنْبَأَنَا وَرْقَاءُ، وَأَبُو النَّضْرِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا وَرْقَاءُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى الثَّعْلَبِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ وَعُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فِي الْبَقِيعِ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى الْهِلَالِ فَأَقْبَلَ رَاكِبٌ فَتَلَقَّاهُ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ مِنْ أَيْنَ جِئْتَ فَقَالَ مِنْ الْعَرَبِ قَالَ أَهْلَلْتَ قَالَ نَعَمْ قَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ إِنَّمَا يَكْفِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ الرَّجُلُ ثُمَّ قَامَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَتَوَضَّأَ فَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ صَلَّى الْمَغْرِبَ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَكَذَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ صَنَعَ قَالَ أَبُو النَّضْرِ وَعَلَيْهِ جُبَّةٌ ضَيِّقَةُ الْكُمَّيْنِ فَأَخْرَجَ يَدَهُ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا وَمَسَحَ.
Yazid told us, Warqa told us, and Abu al-Nadr, he said Warqa told us, on the authority of Abd al-Ala al-Thaalabi, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Abi Layla, he said, I was with Al-Baraa bin Aazib and Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, in Al-Baqi’, looking at the crescent, when a rider arrived. Then Omar, may God be pleased with him, met him and said, “Where do you come from?” He said, “From the Arabs.” He said, “You are welcome.” He said, “Yes.” Omar, may God be pleased with him, said, “God is great.” The man is sufficient for the Muslims. Then Omar, may God be pleased with him, stood up, performed ablution, wiped over his socks, then prayed the Maghrib prayer, then said “This is what I saw the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, do,” said Abu al-Nadr, and he was wearing a robe with tight sleeves, so he took his hand out from under it. And he wiped...
