Hadith #44803
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ‏.‏
Othman bin Omar told us, Yunus told us, on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Sa’id bin Al-Musayyab, that Omar, may God be pleased with him, said that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace He, peace and blessings be upon him, said that the dead person is tortured because his family cries over him.
