Hadith #44863
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَتَى الْحَجَرَ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَأَعْلَمُ أَنَّكَ حَجَرٌ لَا تَضُرُّ وَلَا تَنْفَعُ وَلَوْلَا أَنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُقَبِّلُكَ مَا قَبَّلْتُكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ قَبَّلَهُ.
Waki` told us, on the authority of Hisham, on the authority of his father, that Omar, may God be pleased with him, came to the stone and said, “I know that you are a stone that does no harm and does not benefit.” Had I not seen the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, kissing you, I would not have kissed you. He then kissed him.
