حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ إِنَّ الْوَتْرَ لَيْسَ بِحَتْمٍ وَلَكِنَّهُ سُنَّةٌ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَإِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وِتْرٌ يُحِبُّ الْوَتْرَ.
Hashim told us, Abu Khaythamah told us, Abu Ishaq told us, on the authority of Asim bin Damra, on the authority of Ali, may God be pleased with him, who said that the string is not Definitely, but it is a Sunnah from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and God Almighty and Majestic is Witr and loves Witr.
