Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45390

Hajjaj told us, Israel told us, on the authority of Abu Ishaq, on the authority of Hani bin Hani, and Hubayra bin Yarim, on the authority of Ali, that the daughter of Hamza, She followed them, calling, “O uncle, O uncle,” and Ali took her and took her by the hand and said to Fatima, “Don’t be your cousin, so change her.” Ali disputed over her. And Zaid and Ja’far. Ali said, “I took her, and she is my cousin.” Ja’far said, “My cousin, and her paternal uncle is below me,” and Zaid said, “My brother’s daughter.” So he decided. The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, with her to her paternal aunt, and he said, “The maternal aunt is in the same position as the mother.” Then he said to Ali, “You are from me and I am from you.” And he said to Jafar, “You resemble me and my character.” And he said to Zaid, “You are our brother and our protector.” Ali, may God be pleased with him, said to him, “O Messenger of God, don’t you?” He married Hamza's daughter and said that she was my foster brother's daughter.
