Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44707

Abu Nuh told us, Malik bin Anas told us, on the authority of Zayd bin Aslam, on the authority of his father, on the authority of Omar bin Al-Khattab, may God be pleased with him, he said: We were with The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, was on a journey. He said, “I asked him about something three times, but he did not answer me.” He said, “I am sorry for you.” Your mother, O Ibn Al-Khattab, visited the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, three times, but he did not respond to you. He said, “So I mounted my mount and advanced for fear that Something had descended upon me. He said, “Then I saw a caller calling out, ‘O Umar, where is Omar?’” He said, “I returned, thinking that it had descended upon me.” Something he said, and the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Yesterday, a surah was revealed to me that is dearer to me than the world and all that is in it. Indeed, We have opened for you a conquest. Making it clear, so that God may forgive you for your past sins and future sins.
