Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44745

Yahya told us, Humaid told us, on the authority of Anas, he said: Omar, may God be pleased with him, said: I agreed with my Lord on three days, and my Lord agreed with me on three days. I said, O Messenger By God, if you had taken the place of Abraham as a place of prayer, then God revealed {And take the place of Abraham as a place of prayer.} I said, O Messenger By God, the righteous and the ungodly will enter upon you. If you had commanded the mothers of the believers to wear the hijab, then God would have revealed the verse about the hijab, and I could hear of the Prophet’s reproach for it. Peace be upon some of his wives. He said, “So I sought the mothers of the believers, so I entered upon them and began to seek them out.” One by one, by God, if you desist, otherwise God will replace His Messenger with someone better than you. He said, “So I went to see some of his wives.” She said, “O Umar, as for The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, did not advise his wives until you were advising them. So God Almighty revealed {Perhaps His Lord, if he divorces you, He will replace him with wives better than you.
