حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ، قَالَ كُنَّا مَعَ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَنَحْنُ حُرُمٌ فَأُهْدِيَ لَهُ طَيْرٌ وَطَلْحَةُ رَاقِدٌ فَمِنَّا مَنْ أَكَلَ وَمِنَّا مَنْ تَوَرَّعَ فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْ فَلَمَّا اسْتَيْقَظَ طَلْحَةُ وَفَّقَ مَنْ أَكَلَهُ وَقَالَ أَكَلْنَاهُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.
Muhammad bin Bakr told us, Ibn Jurayj told us, Muhammad bin Al-Munkadir told me, on the authority of Muadh bin Abdul Rahman bin Othman Al-Taymi, on the authority of His father, Abd al-Rahman bin Uthman, said: We were with Talha bin Ubaid Allah, may God be pleased with him, while we were in a state of sanctuary, and a bird was given to him as a gift. Talha was lying down, and some of us had eaten, and some of us had been hesitant and did not eat. When Talha woke up, the one who had eaten woke up and said, “We ate it with the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” May God bless him and grant him peace
