Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #45814

Asbat narrated to us, Mutarrif narrated to us, on the authority of Amer, on the authority of Yahya bin Talha, on the authority of his father, he said: Omar saw Talha bin Ubaidullah heavy, so he said: For you, O Abu So-and-so. Perhaps you have been displeased with the command of your cousin, O Abu So-and-so. He said, “No, except that I heard from the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace.” He delivered a hadith, and nothing prevented me from asking him about it except the power over it. Until he died, I heard him say, “I know of a word that a servant would not say to someone.” When he died, his color shone for her and God relieved him of his distress. He said, and Omar, may God be pleased with him, said, “Indeed, I know what it is.” He said, “And what it is.” He said: Do you know a word greater than the word that his uncle commanded upon his death: “There is no god but Allah.” Talha said, “By God, it is true.”
