Musnad Ahmad — Hadith #44578

Yahya bin Hammad told us, he said, Abu Awanah told us, on the authority of Asim bin Kulayb, he said, a sheikh, from Quraysh from Bani Taim, told me, he said, he told me. So-and-so, and so-and-so, and he said, so he counted six or seven, all of them from Quraysh, among them Abdullah bin Al-Zubayr. He said, “While we were sitting at Omar’s place.” When Ali and Al-Abbas entered, may God be pleased with them, their voices rose, and Omar said, “What, Abbas, I know what you say. You say my nephew is my guardian.” Half of the money, and I know what you are saying, O Ali. His daughter is below me, and she has half of the money, and this is what was in the hands of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. May God bless him and grant him peace. We have seen how he used to do it. His guardian, Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, after him, did the work of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace. May God bless him and grant him peace. Then I took charge of it after Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, and I swear to God that I will do my best to do something in it. Messenger of God, and Abu Bakr did so, then he said, Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, told me, and he swore that he was telling the truth that he had heard the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. He said, “The Prophet does not inherit anything, but rather his inheritance is among the poor Muslims and the needy.” Abu Bakr, may God be pleased with him, told me. And he swore by God that he was telling the truth, that the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, “The Prophet does not die until some of his nation leads him in prayer, and this is what was in my hand.” The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and we have seen how he used to do it. If you wish, I will give it to you to work. In it, according to the deeds of the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the deeds of Abu Bakr, until I pushed him to you, he said, so they left, then he came, and Al-Abbas said, push him to Ali, for I have made a soul happy for him.
