Riyad as-Salihin — Hadith #45890
Hadith #45890
On the authority of Abu Shurayh Khuwaylid bin Amr Al-Khuza’i, may God be pleased with him, he said: I heard the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, say: “Whoever believes in God and the Last Day, let him honor his guest. His reward.” They said: “And what is his reward, O Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him?” He said: “His day and his night. Hospitality is three days, so whatever is beyond that is charity for him.” ((Agreed upon)). And in ((narration To Muslim): “It is not permissible for a Muslim to reside with his brother until he commits a sin.” They said: O Messenger of God, and how can he commit a sin? He said: “He resides with him and has nothing to do with it.”
